Chapter 5 Managing Models

Defining related diagrams

You can use the Related Diagrams feature to attach an object to one or several diagrams others than the ones it was created in. This feature is used to detail the behavior, and define the implementation of objects into other diagrams of any kind of model. It allows you to view objects from different angles and it participates in the definition of these objects. It describes a semantic relationship, and is not meant to explain in which diagrams an object can be found.

The Related Diagrams feature is available through a Related Diagrams tab in the property sheet of objects that can be linked to diagrams. Not all objects support related diagram.

The Related Diagrams feature allows you to define, list, or remove relationships between a specific object and existing diagrams but it does not allow you to create new diagrams. You can associate any types of diagram of the current model with those objects, including diagrams of other packages or other model types.

When you delete an object, you do not delete the related diagrams, you only detach them from the object.
