Web services in PowerDesigner

In PowerDesigner, Web services are made of Web operations which themselves contain Web parameters and Result columns:

• Web operations specify the SQL statements used to retrieve data from databases
• Web parameters are the parameters which appear in the SQL statements
• Result columns are the columns in which the results are displayed

These objects have no symbol, but they appear in the Browser tree view.

This structure is compatible with the definition of Web services in Sybase ASA 9 and IBM DB2 v8.1.

Import Web service as service provider

You can import a Web service as a service provider in the BPM to define the links between a concrete implementation and the abstract definition of service interfaces and operations.
