Chapter 9 Working with Object-Oriented Models
The activity diagram shows an object state as reflecting an object, instance of a class. For this reason, you can drag a class from the Browser and drop it into an activity diagram. This creates an object state (and an object) linked to the class.
To link a class to an object state:
This automatically creates an object and an object state in the Browser. The object state symbol is also displayed in the activity diagram, its name being the concatenation of the class and object state names.
Example: if you drag the class Invoice from the Browser and drop it into an activity diagram, you can see the following result in the Browser:
