Chapter 8 Extended Model Definitions Reference Guide

Creating a transformation profile

By default the Transformation Profile category does not appear in the extended model definition tree view.

You can create several transformation profiles in the same extended model definition: each profile corresponding to a specific generation scenario; for example when the CDM is the source and the target is a PDM, and so on.

Note   Transformations
A transformation profile is a list of transformations that need to be previously defined in the Profile\Transformations category of the extended model definition.

For more information on transformations, see chapter Managing Profiles.

Steps To create a transformation profile:

  1. Right-click the root of the extended model definition tree view and select Add Items in the contextual menu.
  2. Select Transformation Profiles in the Selection dialog box and click OK.

The category Transformation Profiles appears in the extended model definition tree view.
  3. Right-click the Transformation Profiles category and select New in the contextual menu.

    A new Profile is created.
  4. Type a name and comment in the General page.
  5. <optional> Select a model type in type in the Model Type box. You can also select a family and subfamily in the corresponding boxes.
  6. Click the Pre-generation tab to display pre-generation transformations.
  7. Click the Add Transformations tool to select transformations to apply to the current model before generation. These transformations have been previously defined in the Profile\Transformations category.
  8. Repeat the same steps in the Post-generation page.
  9. Click Apply in the extended model definition editor to save the transformation profile.
