You can test a connection profile by pinging any server directly from the Enterprise Explorer.
To test a connection profile:
Expand the server category until you locate the profile that you want to test.
Right-click the profile and select Ping from the context menu. Choose from the following:
If the ping fails, verify that the server is running and check the connection profile properties.
To view error information, click Details>> in the Error dialog.
The exception appears in the window.
If the ping succeeds, click OK.
