Type mappings define classes that convert XML to Java datatypes and vice-versa. They are required if you deploy Java services to an EAServer WST container and the service operations use custom parameter or return types, that is, types beyond those listed for EAServer WST deployment in Java Service Datatypes.
The Type Mapping preferences page allows you to:
Review type mappings that can be used in EAServer 5.x Services Packages.
Change the location of the type mapping store.
Import and export type mappings between Sybase WorkSpace installations. For example, you can import type mappings from another WorkSpace developer's installation to merge them with your own type mappings.
To set type mapping preferences:
Select Window | Preferences from the main menu bar.
The Preferences dialog box appears.
Expand Sybase, Inc in the left pane.
Select Type Mapping.
The type mapping preference settings appear in the right pane. An entry displays in the type mapping table for each type mapping used in EAServer 5.x Services Packages that you have built or deployed. The table also includes mappings that you have imported from another type mapping store.
To remove a mapping, highlight it in the table and click Remove.
To change the location of the type mapping store, edit the value of Default Path or click Browse to select a new location. The path must specify a directory.
To import or export type mappings from another WorkSpace installation, click Import or Export and follow the directions in the wizard.
You can restore the default type mapping store location by clicking Restore Defaults.
Click Apply.
Click OK.
