Setting Database Service Editor Preferences

Use the Preferences dialog to define preferences for the Database Service Editor.

To set Database Service Editor preferences:

  1. Select Window|Preferences from the main menu bar.

    The Preferences dialog box appears.

  2. Expand Sybase, Inc in the left pane.

  3. Select Database Service Editor.

    The Database Service Editor options appear in the right pane. They are described in the table below.

    OptionDescription

    Result Set Discovery Options

    Choose from the following:

    • Rollback after 'Discovering' result sets for an operation.

      (default) If turned On when a stored procedure is executed, the transaction is rolled back.

      If turned Off, all transactions completed during the discovery process are committed to the database.

    • Use Discover Result Sets wizard instead of dialog.

      (default) If turned On, the Discover Result Sets wizard is used during the discovery process.

      If turned Off, the Discover Result Sets dialog is used during the discovery process.

    • Don't show Introduce page in the Discover Result Sets Wizard.

      Sybase recommends that you use the default setting off.

    Advanced Editor Options

    Choose from the following:

    • Show advanced parameters in parameter list. Default is off.

    • Prompt when result sets changes for operation. Default is on.

    • Accept regenerated result set. Default is on.

  4. Click OK to apply your preference options.
