This topic describes how to modify Mobile Development preferences. Before creating mobile applications, you can set preferences to determine log message levels and editor settings for creating and editing templates and mobile applications.
To set Mobile Development editor preferences:
Select Window|Preferences from the main menu bar.
The Preferences dialog box appears.
Expand Sybase, Inc|Mobile Development in the left pane and select Editors.
The Editor dialog allows you to define the editor to use when creating or modifying mobile applications and templates. It also allows you to choose which pages to display during the mobile application development process.

| XML Editor Type | Choose the XML editor from the drop-down list to use when editing source pages. By default the XML editor is the one provided in Sybase WorkSpace. |
| Mobile Applications | Select which Mobile Application Pages to view during the development process by selecting the check box next to each page you want to display. In the Advanced Configuration section, select Show Authentication in the Web Service Element, if you want to display the authentication options available when defining a Web Service element. Determine the editor to use when editing mobile applications by selecting it from the Open Source Panel With drop-down list. |
| Templates | Determine the editors to use when editing the various templates by selecting them from the drop-down list next to each template. Select which Template Pages to view during the development process by selecting the check box next to each page you want to display. |
| Composite Applications | Select which Composite Application Pages to view during the development process by selecting the check box next to each page you want to display. In the Advanced Configuration section, choose the editor to use when editing composite application by selecting it from the Open Source Panel With drop-down list. |
| Mobile Pages | The Mobile Pages tab appears only if you have selected the Mobile Pages capability. See Setting Capabilities Preferences. Select which Mobile Pages to view during the development process by selecting the check box next to each page you want to display. In the Advanced Configuration section, choose the editor to use when editing mobile pages by selecting it from the Open Source Panel With drop-down list. |
| Mobile Page Groups | The Mobile Page Groups tab appears only if you have selected the Mobile Page Groups capability. See Setting Capabilities Preferences. Select which Mobile Page Group Pages to view during the development process by selecting the check box next to each page you want to display. In the Advanced Configuration section, choose the editor to use when editing mobile page groups by selecting it from the Open Source Panel With drop-down list. |
| Mobile Catalogs | The Mobile Catalogs tab appears only if you have selected the Mobile Catalogs capability to show. See Setting Capabilities Preferences. Select which Mobile Catalog Pages to view during the development process by selecting the check box next to each page you want to display. In the Advanced Configuration section, choose the editor to use when editing mobile catalogs by selecting it from the Open Source Panel With drop-down list. |
Click Apply.
Click OK.
