Adding a Welcome File to a Web Application

You can add one or more welcome files to your Web application.

To add a welcome file:

Select web.xml in the WorkSpace Navigator of the Web Application Development perspective.
The web.xml editor opens.
Select the Pages tab of the editor.
The Pages page appears displaying defined welcome files.
Click Add.
A new welcome file is added to the Welcome Files list with the default name NewWelcomeFilex and a General Information section appears.
(Optional) Change the default welcome file name to a unique, descriptive name in the General Information section.
To change the position of a welcome file in the list, click Up or Down.
To delete a welcome file, click Remove.
