Adding User-Defined Extension Function JARs

You can implement user-defined extension functions when you develop a transformation service. The JARs can come from a WorkSpace project (Add JARs) or from the file system (Add External JARs).

  1. Select Window|Preferences from the main menu bar.

  2. Expand Sybase, Inc in the left pane.

  3. Expand Services.

  4. Select Transformation Editor.

    The Transformation Editor dialog appears in the right pane.

  5. Select the User-Defined Extensions tab in the right pane.

    Extension Functions JARs List

    Displays JARs you added to your workspace. Each JAR is usable by any transformation service in your workspace.

    Remove

    Deletes the selected JAR from the list. The JAR file is not deleted from the project or from the file system.

    Add JARs

    Lets you browse and select one or more JARs from a project in your workspace.

    Add External JARs

    Lets you browse and select one or more JARs from the file system.

At packaging time, any JAR used in a transformation service must be included in ServiceClasses.jar.
