The Business Process Variables section of a Business Process Service editor allows you to view, create, and modify variables.
Business Process Variables can also appear in a view, depending on which you have selected to use, the view or the section.
Business process variables
Variable | Description |
---|---|
Interface Variables | Lists only the variables that are part of the interface to the business process. A business process can have one or more input parameters, a return parameter, no parameters, or input and return parameters. Interface variables have process-level scope. This means they are accessible throughout the business process. |
Invoked Service Variables | Invoked Service variables are automatically created when you add an operation to the business process. These variables cannot be modified. Service variables have process-level scope. This means they are accessible throughout the business process. |
Local Variables | Local variables are manually created by the user as needed and are visible only within the scope for which they were defined. For example, creating a new variable with a complex activity selected on the business process canvas means that the variable is accessible, in scope, only to the complex activity and activities contained within that complex activity. |
