Making a Service Publicly Accessible

A publicly accessible service is a service that can be invoked by a caller outside the runtime engine. A service that has not been exposed publicly can only be invoked by other services in the same package.

To make a service publicly accessible:

  1. Create a package that contains the service to be made publicly accessible.

  2. In .svcpkgdef or .axispkgdef, click on the Access Configuration tab.

  3. Check the listed services to be made publicly accessible.

  4. Specify the transport(s) over which the service will be accessed.

  5. Specify the service interfaces to be exposed over the transport.

  6. Specify the protocols to be supported when accessing the service over the transport.
