To set a delay, decide:
Where in the flow you want to pause the runtime processing.
If you want to set the delay for specific (absolute) time when the processing will continue to the next activity in the flow, or
If you want to set the delay relative to when processing on the delay activity begins.
A delay is not allowed between a Request and a Response.
To set a delay:
Click on the Business Process canvas to activate the Tool Palette.
If the Tool Palette does not appear either on the Fast View shortcut bar or as an open view in the perspective, open the Tool Palette.
From the Activities tool palette, drag and drop the Delay activity onto the business process canvas between the activities where you want to pause processing.
With the Delay activity selected, either expand Properties in the Business Process Logic Page or open the Properties Panel view.
The properties for the delay are displayed.
Select either the Absolute or Relative Timer type.
Select either the Context or Literal Timer details.
Set the time values for the delay.
For an Absolute delay time period:
Set the Time stamp string by specifying a literal value or selecting a context property. Format: YYYY MM DD HH MM SS SSS Example: 2004 11 11 13 18 10 000
For a Relative delay time period:
Set the duration of the delay by either specifying a literal value or selecting a context property.
