A driver definition saves the location of driver files. You can set driver definition preferences in advance, or you can wait until you create a connection profile and need the driver defiinition. After a driver definition is set and contains the location or locations of required driver files, when a connection profile of the same type is created, the driver locations are known.
To set driver definition preferences:
Select Window|Preferences from the main menu bar.
The Preferences dialog box appears.
Expand Sybase, Inc in the left pane.
Select Driver Definitions.
The Driver Definitions dialog box displaying the available driver definition templates appears in the right pane.
To add a new driver definition, select the appropriate driver type and click Add.
The New Driver Entry dialog box appears.
Select a driver template from the Available Driver Templates list box.
Type a unique name for the new driver template in the Driver Name field.
To populate the new driver template immediately, click Edit New Driver Instance Immediately.
Click OK.
If you did not select to edit the new driver instance immediately, The Driver Definitions dialog box appears with the new driver name added to the Available Driver list.
If you selected to edit the new driver instance immediately, the Edit Driver Entry dialog box opens. Complete the template according to the requirements set by the associated driver.
