This topic describes issues to be aware of when working with the mobile template editor.
Japanese characters do not show in the mobile template editor
If you modify the content of an HTML template (or any mobile template) from the Template Editor's Content window, not all Japanese characters display in the editor when using the default character set. To change the character set:
Select Window|Preferences.
Expand General and Appearance, and select Color and Fonts.
Expand Basic, select one of the font categories, and click Change.
Select a Font that displays Japanese characters (MS Mincho, for example) and click OK.
Mobile template editor content window may not show data correctly for text editor option
When editing a template from the Template Editor's Content window, if the preferences is set to "text editor" for say HTML, and this is a HTML template, then Japanese (or other foreign language) characters may not display correctly without changing the "text file encoding" preferences. To modify text file encoding:
Select Window|Preferences.
Expand General and select Editors.
In the Text File Encoding section, select Other.
Select UTF-8 as the format and click OK.
