Use the Mobile Application Configuration dialog to add labels.
You can optionally add custom labels to data-capable elements. When you create a label and associate it with a column, the mobile application displays the label as the new column header during playback. When a mobile application contains more than one grid element, and each element has a column associated to the same label, the two elements are joined, appearing as a single table during playback. For example, you could combine two captured stock quote tables into one. These tables can be captured from different Web sites, with different column headings. You can consolidate this type of information from various sources using labels.
For mobile applications that contain more than one element, and each element contains columns mapped to labels, only the columns with labels common to both elements are displayed at playback. When a table is mapped to labels, only the columns with labels are displayed. For example, if you have a table of five columns, and three of them are mapped to labels, only the three columns with labels are displayed during playback. In this case the Map All option described below, uses the original header as the label. The main use of these is to reorder columns instead of renaming headers as mentioned above.
By default the mobile application Labels section is not available from the mobile application's editor screen. See Setting Mobile Development Preferences for instructions on viewing the Labels section from the editor screen. The Labels section consists of:
Defined Labels – define, edit, and sort labels using:
Import – import column headers as labels.
Add – add a label to the list. Enter the name of the label in the New Label dialog.
Edit – modify the selected label.
Remove – remove the selected label from the list.
Remove All – remove all labels from the list.
Move Up – move the label up the list.
Move Down – move the label down the list.
Sort Records By – select a label, then select either Ascending or Descending, to sort the records in ascending or descending order.
Mapped Labels:
Click the name of a data-capable element in the Element list. This displays the element field labels below the element name and the associated label drop-down lists.
Select a label from the drop-down list associated with an element field.
Use Map All to map all labels to elements. Use Unmap All to unmap all labels. Import and Map All uses the original header as the label. The main use of these is to reorder columns instead of renaming headers as mentioned above.
