The Text Processor wizard allows you to create events that are triggered when a user clicks the text you associate with the event.
Postprocessing text to trigger events:
Right-click the mobile application and select Add Post Processing|Text Processing.
When the Text Processor wizard displays, click Preview to see a preview of the selected mobile application.
Click Add. You see the window where you define the events.
Complete these options:
Event Name – the name of the event to generate when the matching text is clicked. The event must already exist. For server-side events, the name is automatically filled in when you select the mobile application for the server-side click-across event.
Do not use spaces in event names.
Regular Expression – enter a regular expression to place an event on text that matches the expression.
Value – select the type of data to send with the event:
Dynamic Value – sends the actual text you click on as the event data.
Static Value – sends a constant value as the event data. Specify the value in the text box below the value drop-down list.
Matching Scheme – select the matching scheme to use when finding matches for your regular expressions. Select one of:
Match All Occurrences – to place the event on every match to your regular expression that is found.
Match First Occurrence Only – to place the event on only the first occurrence of a match to your regular expression.
Event type – select one of the following:
Client-side – select if this is a client-side event. Click Notify Now to broadcast the event and update any listening mobile applications. Click Notify Across Page to notify listening mobile applications on current and other pages.
Server-side – select if this is a server-side event. Click Search to locate the listening mobile application for this event.
The server-side mobile application must have CGI parameters to pass the event to. If there is more than one CGI parameter, you are presented with a dialog box asking for which event this represents. The event name is assigned the name of the selected CGI parameter.
When you are satisfied with your entries, click OK, then Next.
When you see a final Preview of the mobile application, click Finish when done or Back to change your settings.
Select File|Save to save your changes.
