Resolving Port Conflicts When Running Unwired Accelerator on EAServer and Tomcat

A complete installation of Sybase WorkSpace includes Unwired Accelerator (Apache Tomcat) and Unwired Accelerator (EAServer) with both servers set up to use port 4040. If you both to use both EAServer and Apache Tomcat with Unwired Accelerator, you must change the HTTP port numbers for EAServer.

To resolve Unwired Accelerator port conflicts:

  1. Connect to EAServer. Select Programs|Sybase|Sybase WorkSpace|Sybase WorkSpace 1.5|EAServer 5.3|EAServer Manager from the Windows Start menu.

  2. Edit the default EAServer port numbers for the following:

    1. Right-click httpUA listener and select Properties. Change the port number to a new, unused EAServer port number.

    2. Right-click httplocal listener and select Properties. Change the port number to the same port that you used for httpUA listener.

  3. Shut down the following servers:

    • EAServer

    • Unwired Orchestrator

    • Unwired Accelerator (EAServer)

See Stopping the Sybase Developer Edition Servers for more information.

  4. Restart the following servers:

    • EAServer

    • Unwired Orchestrator

    • Unwired Accelerator (EAServer)

    • Unwired Accelerator (Apache Tomcat)

All servers that use EAServer are now running on the new port, and Unwired Accelerator (Apache Tomcat) is still running on port 4040.

See the EAServer System Administration Guide on the Sybase WorkSpace online bookshelf for more information on EAServer ports.
