Generating and Editing Dashboard Templates
This topic describes how to generate a new Dashboard template, or edit one that already exists:
New templates – after clicking the Generate Dashboard Template icon, complete the
properties described below, or accept the defaults. Go to the Preview page to view your
changes. Click OK when finished. Select File|Save As, and
name your new mobile template.
Existing templates – double-click the mobile template you want to edit. The mobile
template editor displays. Click the Generate Dashboard Template icon. This is the only active icon for existing Dashboard
templates. Edit the properties described below. Go to the Preview page to view your changes.
Click OK when finished. Select File|Save, to save your
changes.

Appearance
Allows you to change dimensions and layout of the dashboard.

Dial Gauge Dimension |
Angular Width – the angular width of the dial gauge in degrees. Valid values are
1–359.
Starting Angle – the starting angle of the gauge in degrees. Valid values are blank
for 0 or 1–359.
Outer Radius – defines the size of the outer radius in pixels.
Inner Radius – defines the size of the inner radius in pixels.

Dial Hand Type – the dial hand type.
Pivot Radius – defines the size of the pivot radius.
Pivot Color – defines the color of the pivot.

Outside Margins – the size of the outside margin in pixels.
Column Margins – the size of the column margins in pixels.
Row Margins – the size of the row margins in pixels.

Colors
Allows you to change the color range of the dial gauge.

Color Range – select the color range of the dial gauge by selecting a color and using
the edit keys (Add, Edit, Remove, Remove all, Move up, and Move down) to modify its color and placement.

Header & text
Allows you to modify the header and text properties of the Dashboard template.

Font – enter a name of the font for the header, or select a font for the header from
the drop-down list .
Font Size – the size of the header font.
Font Color – the color of the font. Click the color bar to display the color palette.
Choose from the existing palette, or click Define Custom Colors to define a new

Margin Height – the height of the header margin.

Labels
Allows you to add and modify the dial gauge label properties of the Dashboard template.

Enable Labels | You must select this option to enable labels on the Dashboard template. Once enabled, you can add and modify
labels. |

Font – enter a name of the font for the label, or select a font for the labels from
the drop-down list.
Font Size – the size of the labels.
Font Color – the color of the font. Click the color bar to display the color palette.
Choose from the existing palette, or click Define Custom Colors to define a new
color.
Font Bold – select this option to display the labels in bold type.

Label Display |
Number of Labels – the number of labels on the dial gauge.
Number of Decimals – the number of digits displayed to the right of the decimal
point.
Label Prefix – the text of any label prefix. Leave blank for no prefix.
Label Suffix – the text of any label suffix. Leave blank for no suffix.
Override Maximum Label Display – enter a string to display as the gauge's maximum,
which overrides the default value.
Override Minimum Label Display – enter a string to display as the gauge's minimum,
which overrides the default value.

Tooltip
Allows you to enable and customize tooltip settings. Tooltips allow you to move your cursor over the gauge to see
additional information.

Tick marks
Add or modify tick marks (small lines of measurement positioned along the axis of the gauge) to the Dashboard template.

Major Tick Marks |
Number – the number of major tick marks along the gauge.
Length – the length of the major tick marks.
Thickness – the thickness of the major tick marks.

palette. Choose from the existing palette, or click Define Custom Colors to define a new
color.

Number – the number of minor tick marks along the gauge.
Length – the length of the minor tick marks.

Color – the color of the minor tick marks. Click the color bar to display the color
palette. Choose from the existing palette, or click Define Custom Colors to define a new
color.

Event
Establish an event for the template.
Tick marks

Event |
Event Name – the name of the event.
Event Value – select the event value from the drop-down list. For static event
types, enter the value in the textbox provided.
Notify Now – send the event immediately.
Notify Across Page – send the event across pages, if there is a listener on another
page.
