Multiple Unwired Accelerator Installations

If you install Mobile Tooling as part of your Sybase WorkSpace installation, and you have an existing Unwired Accelerator on the same machine, the Sybase WorkSpace installation program:

  1. Installs a new version of Unwired Accelerator 7.0 without trying to detect an existing Unwired Accelerator 7.0 installation.

  2. Does not update the existing Unwired Accelerator 7.0 installation.

  3. May install both Unwired Accelerator 7.0 (Tomcat version) and Unwired Accelerator 7.0 (EAServer version). The Tomcat version is installed during the mobile tooling installation process in a typical installation. The EAServer version is installed during a custom or later installation. In other words, you may have more than one Unwired Accelerator 7.0 installation on your machine. All installations have the same default configuration setup:

    • the HTTP port is set to "4040"

    • the ASA port is set to "4747"

You cannot have more than one Unwired Accelerator 7.0 server running at the same time, using the same ports, since the ports are taken by the first running installation. If you want to run a second Unwired Accelerator server on the same machine at the same time, you must change the port numbers. See the Unwired Accelerator Installation Guide for instructions.

For Sybase WorkSpace users, this means that you may not be able to use the drag-and drop feature to move resources from one server to another, since both servers must be running. Instead run the servers separately, and use the export/import feature to move resources between servers.
