The List/Detail section defines how a table is displayed on a mobile device. To better understand how List/Detail views work:
Create a mobile application with several columns, for example, a stock quote table.
Select the List/Detail section, and select one column for List view, and select all columns for the Detail view.
Save the mobile application, and select Preview. Select the mobile preview icon on the Preview (2nd button). The column you selected for List view displays.
Click the magnifying glass icon of a row, the detail of the item you just selected displays. That’s the Detail view, and displays all the columns you selected for Detail view.
When you initially create a mobile application, all columns are selected for list and detail views by default. However, if you add columns later, for example by changing filter rules, these new columns are not added to the list/detail views. You need to go to the list/detail page of the editor to re-select the desired columns.
The mobile application List/Detail section provides options for defining field parameters for any fields contained in your mobile application, and is available from the Mobile Application editor. See Setting Preferences if the List/Detail section does not display.
List view - options include:
Name - displays the names of the columns in the table.
Field Width - defines the display width of the field. Select the check box next to the field to display the checked field in List view. Highlight the field, and click Edit to edit the field. Enter the desired field width and click OK.
Select All - selects all fields.
Deselect All - unselects all fields.
Move Up - reorders the fields by moving the selected field up.
Move Down - reorders the fields by moving the selected field down.
Edit - modify the field width of the highlighted field.
Detail view options include: options include:
View Width - the display width of the selected fields. All fields must be the same width in the detail view.
Name - the names of the fields.
Select All - selects all fields.
Deselect All - unselects all fields.
Move Up - reorders the fields by moving the selected field up.
Move Down - reorders the fields by moving the selected field down.
