Database Development helps you port SQL code between Sybase databases by flagging non-portable SQL syntax in three ways: in the SQL Editor, in the Outline view, and in the Tasks view. You can check your code for portability to:
Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.x
Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.5.x
Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.x
Sybase IQ 12.6
Portability checks for Sybase IQ are identical to those for Adaptive Server Anywhere.
Choose the portability check target in Preferences|SQL Editor.
Ways to Identify SQL Statements Flagged as Non-Portable:
In the SQL Editor, each non-portable statement is marked with a
icon in the vertical ruler.
In the Outline view, each non-portable statement is displayed with a blue triangle decorating its icon. In Adaptive Server Enterprise if you have a statement such as create default phonedflt as "UNKNOWN" the outline view displays an icon with a blue triangle in the upper left corner.
In the Tasks view, each portability issue is displayed as a task.
