As an alternative to creating a database service to which you add stored procedures, you can derive a database service directly from a stored procedure. Optionally, you may create a Sybase WorkSpace project in which to locate your service. In Database Explorer, select the stored procedure from which you want to create a service.
To create a database service:
Right-click the procedure and select Create Database Service.
The New Service Wizard opens.
Enter or select an existing project folder name. Modify the default name if there is a name conflict. Use the Advanced feature to link files to the file system and to create, edit, or remove defined path variables. Click Next.
The Service Summary page appears.
In the Service Information frame, enter a user-defined category name and, optionally, provide a description of the service.
Click Next.
The Select Stored Procedures page appears.
Switch to a different database connection profile by using the drop-down, or click New to create a new profile and follow the steps in the New Connection Profile wizard. The stored procedures available for that connection appear as a list.
Check the stored procedure you want to expose as an operation in the service.
Click Next. The Summary page appears. Click Finish.
