Saving a Procedural Object Definition as a SQL File

  1. Double-click the procedural object in Database Explorer; or select it, right-click on it, and choose Edit Procedure (or Edit Event or Edit Trigger) from the context menu. The SQL code is loaded into SQL Editor.

  2. From the WorkSpace toolbar, select File|Save As, or, alternatively, use the context menu and select Save As... The Save As dialog appears.

    Note

If you have not already created a project for the SQL file you are saving, see Creating a Sybase Project, or complete the following steps in the Save As dialog:

    1. Click Create Project. The New Project page appears.

    2. Select Sybase|Sybase WorkSpace Project|. Click Next. The Project page appears.

    3. Enter a project name in the Project Name field.

    4. Click Finish.

  3. Select or enter the name of a project. If not filled in by default with a .sql file extension in the File Name field, type the name of the procedural object with a .sql file extension. Click OK. The SQL file appears in SQL Editor.

  4. From here, you can modify the SQL file. Select the WorkSpace toolbar Save button or right-click the procedural object and select Save File from the context menu to save the modified file.
