You can edit SQL files with the same tools you have available to you when editing procedural objects. These include Visual SQL for creating SQL statements and Content Assist for help with SQL syntax as you enter code.
To edit a SQL file:
Open a SQL file from WorkSpace Navigator by double-clicking it or by right-clicking it and selecting Open.The SQL file will be loaded in the SQL Editor, and a connection state, ‘connected’ or ‘not connected’, will be displayed at the status bar at the lower left edge of the workbench. For instance, ‘Database type: ASA, Current profile: myASA, not connected’.
If the SQL file is not yet connected to a database, you can use SQL Editor context menu Attach Connection Profile to connect, to use the full capabilities of content assist, and be able to execute the SQL file or selected statements.
Use the aforementioned editing tools to edit the SQL file.
Save the file to its Sybase WorkSpace project.
