To use Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) messaging services, you must have Tibco Enterprise Message Service installed and ASE configured for Tibco JMS. You must also create a JMS connection profile.
To establish a JMS provider connection profile:
Start Tibco JMS Server by selecting the Windows Start |Programs|Tibco Enterprise for JMS<version>|Start JMS Server. The Tibco JMS console displays.
Select Window|Show View|Other|Sybase|Enterprise Explorer.
From the Enterprise Explorer view, select the Message Transports folder, right-click, and select New to open the Connection Profile wizard.
Select JMS Connection Profile and click Next.
The Create Connection Profile dialog appears.
Enter a profile name in the Name field and enter an optional description in the Description field.
Select the check box to automatically connect to the server and display its contents in the Enterprise Browser view whenever that view is open.
Click Next. The Driver Details page appears. The Select Driver field displays the available driver templates.
Selecting a driver template from the Select Driver menu overwrites all the other fields in this dialog.
If no compatible driver displays in the Select Driver field, press the ... button to invoke the Available Driver Definitions dialog and define a driver.
Click Add and select a driver template, Tibco 3.1.1 or 4.0.0.
If your driver template is in another location, you may get an error message that Sybase WorkSpace is unable to locate the jar/zip file. Click Edit, select the appropriate file, and click Edit Jar/Zip. Use the browser to locate the tibco/client/java folder where the jar file is located. Select the file corresponding to the one named in the error message and click Open. A dialog pops up “Update all Jars to the same path”. Choose no and click OK to return to the Database Definitions page.
Click OK. The Driver Details page re-appears.
Modify the fields in the Connection Properties frame based on the information displayed in your Tibco JMS console. For example, Provider URL = tcp://localhost:7222. You might also need to provide or modify the user name and password.
Press Test Connection to ping the JMS server.
Click Next. The Summary page appears. Review your inputs and click Finish or click Back to change any of the settings.
