Saving Execution Results

You may want to save the execution results from running a procedural object or executing a SQL file. You can save a result set to a project or to export to other applications.

To save a result set to a project:

  1. Select a result instance by placing the cursor anywhere inside the result set under the Result Set tab in SQL Results.

  2. Right-click and select Save Result.

  3. Enter or select the name of a parent Project folder in which to save the result set. If you do not have a project in which to save the result set, create a new project by clicking Create Project to launch the New Project wizard. See Creating a Sybase WorkSpace Project for details on creating a project.

  4. In File Name, enter the name you want to save the result set as. From the File Type drop-down list, select the format (Plain Text, Access or XML) in which to save the result set.

  5. Click OK. The result set appears in SQL Editor.

To save result sets for export:

  1. Select the result instance by placing the cursor anywhere inside the result set under the Result Set tab in SQL Results view.

  2. Right-click and select Export All Results.

The Select Export Format dialog appears.

  3. Select a file format (Plain Text, Access or XML) from the Format frame.

Browse for the location where you want to save the result sets. The Export Result dialog appears.

  4. Click Save. The Select Export Format page reappears, and the path name to your export file appears in the File Name field. When you have more than One Result Set for a particular execution, use Export All Results.

  5. Click Finish. You are returned to SQL Editor.
