On HP systems, Sybase IQ writes server messages to /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log(the system log file) by default. This could quickly fill the file system. To avoid the problem, use the -s option on the start_asiq command to set it to a location other than “user”. For example:
start_asiq -s local2
