Adaptive Server® Anywhere is Sybase's transaction-processing relational database management system which can be used standalone or as a network server in a multiuser client/server or three-tier environment. Adaptive Server Anywhere is a component of SQL Anywhere® Studio. It is specifically designed to have a small “footprint” (to use fewer memory and disk resources than the average database management system). Sybase IQ is an extension of Adaptive Server Anywhere, and supports many of the same features.
