Package Properties

You can modify an object's properties from its property sheet. To open a package property sheet, double-click its diagram symbol or its Browser entry.

Note: The same properties (except where noted) are also available for project folders.

The General tab contains the following properties:

Property

Description

Name

The name of the item which should be clear and meaningful, and should convey the item's purpose to non-technical users.

Code

The technical name of the item used for generating code or scripts, which may be abbreviated, and should not generally include spaces.

Comment

A comment is an optional label that describes a package and provides more information than the name.

Stereotype

Sub-classification used to extend the semantics of an object without changing its structure; it can be predefined or user-defined.

Default diagram

[package only] Specifies the diagram to display by default when you open the package.

Use parent namespace

[package only] Option that defines the package as being the area in which the name of an object must be unique in order to be used.
