Retrieving BPM Objects and Properties from SIMUL8 Objects and Properties

The import process allows you to retrieve BPM objects and properties from SIMUL8 objects and properties.

Work Center

SIMUL8 work centers are imported into BPM objects as a process, decision, or synchronization.

If the SIMUL8 objects were created from a PowerDesigner SIMUL8 generation, they are imported with the same type and properties as the original PowerDesigner objects, except when the properties have been modified in the SIMUL8 application.

If the SIMUL8 objects were not created from a PowerDesigner SIMUL8 generation, they are imported with the type and properties that correspond to the PowerDesigner types and properties. For more information see Converting BPM objects and properties into SIMUL8 objects and properties.

Resource assignments are imported as resource flows with the "Read" CRUD access mode.

Queue

Queues have no corresponding concept in PowerDesigner. Properties of the queues are imported as properties of the flow that contains the queue.

Work Entry Point and Work Exit Point

Work entry points are imported as start objects. Work exit points are imported as end objects.

Resource

Resources are imported as resource objects. A pool of resources (group of resources) has no corresponding concept in PowerDesigner and cannot be imported.

Component and Sub-objects

SIMUL8 components and sub-objetcs are imported into BPM objects in the following way:

SIMUL8 objects

BPM objects

Component (generated from PowerDesigner "Implemented by" process)

"Implemented by" process + (if it does not already exists) implementation process and its sub-objects

Component

Composite process and its sub-objects

Sub-objects can also be components.

Sub-window

Symbols of the sub-window are directly created into the PowerDesigner diagram.
