Vertical Partitioning Checks (PDM)

The following PDM model checks are made on partitions:

Description and Correction

Vertical partitioning name and code uniqueness

Vertical partitioning names and codes must be unique in the model.

Manual correction: Modify the duplicate name/code

Automatic correction: Appends a number to the duplicate name/code

Existence of partition

A vertical partitioning object cannot be empty, it must contain at least one partition.

Manual correction: Delete the vertical partitioning object or create at least one partition in the vertical partitioning object property sheet

Automatic correction: Deletes empty vertical partitioning object

Unavailable target table

A partition should have a corresponding table. You could delete a table that actually corresponds to a partition, this check verifies that each partition has a corresponding table.

Manual correction: Delete the partition with no corresponding table

Automatic correction: Deletes the partition with no corresponding table
