Specifying Application Names for Custom Applications

To associate a user-defined execution class with a particular activity, you must specify an activity's application name.

RAP components have predefined application names, but you must also specify application names of custom applications that may be communicating with the RAPCache database. In order to specify an application name, you must hard-code the application name into the custom application.

• Using Open Client
  Invoke the ct_con_props API to specify the application name for custom C/C++-based applications that use the Open Client library to communicate with the RAPCache database.
• Using jConnect
  To specify the application name for custom Java-based applications that communicate with the RAPCache database using jConnect TM for JDBC TM, invoke the method setProperty() on the java.util.Properties object that is used while establishing a database connection.
