Running the Migration Installer from the Command Line

Run the migration installation using the specified command line. Using the standard command launches the full installer instead of the migration installer.

Prerequisites Shut down all components, including the JINI Server and any agents that are running, prior to running the installation.
To run the migration installation:
  1. Run ./setup<platform>.bin -V InstallType=upgrade.
  2. Click Next on the Welcome screen.
  3. Choose a location, then read and accept the license agreement. Click Next.

If you do not find a license agreement that matches your location, or if the license agreement is unreadable on your system, you can read all available license agreements on the Sybase Website at http://www.sybase.com/softwarelicenses.

  4. Choose an installation directory and click Next. You can accept the default target directory or choose another installation directory. The default installation directory is /opt/sybase/RAP.
  5. Choose the components you want to install.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your installation.
Note: Run the installer for each RAPCache server you want to install. If you want to install multiple servers or deploy components on different machines, run the installer multiple times.
