Starting the RAPCache Server

After you install the core components and activate your SySAM license, restart the RAPCache server.

To start RAPCache, complete the following tasks:

  1. Open a command window.
  2. Change to the $RAP/RAPCache directory, where $RAP is your RAP installation directory.
  3. Source the environment variables: source SYBASE.csh or . ./SYBASE.sh.
  4. Change directory to $RAP/RAPCache/ASE-15_0/install.
  5. Start the RAPCache server:./startserver -f RUN_<server_name> &

    <server_name> is the name of the server. The ampersand (&) starts a background process that continues to run after you exit the terminal window.
