RAP architecture includes Feed Handlers, publishers, subscribers, and data stores.
Feed Handlers are publishers that intercept real-time market data feeds from exchanges, such as the NYSE, or consolidated service providers, such as Reuters. Feed Handlers process the data using the Publisher API, then send it over the network to one or more subscribers. The subscribers load messages into the appropriate data stores: this product also includes an in-memory cache database for immediate data access and a historical repository. UAF plug-ins running on each server handle communication between the Operations Console and RAP components.
