Adding the RAPStoreServer Administrator

Protect your production environment by changing the deafult user password the first time you log in to the RAPStoreServer.

The RAPStore Server installation creates an administrator account with a default user ID (DBA) and password (SQL). The DBA user ID identifies a user with full administration and resource creation rights.

  1. In the left pane, right-click the Sybase IQ icon and choose Connect.
  2. On the connection dialog box, click the Database tab.
  3. From the Server name drop-down box, enter host_name:port_number, where host_name is the name of the machine that hosts the RAPStore server, and port_number is the server port number.
  4. Click Browse next to the Database File field, and choose <RAPStore_database_name>.db, where <RAPStore_database_name> is the name of your RAPStore database. Click OK
  5. Click the Identification tab.
  6. Enter DBA in the User ID boxand SQL in the Password box, and click OK.

    You are now connected to the RAPStore database on the RAPStore server. Expand Sybase IQ in the left pane to see the server name. Expand the server name to see the database name.

  7. Expand the database folder, then expand the Users & Groups folder.
  8. Right-click DBA and select Properties.
  9. Enter and confirm the new DBA password.
  10. Click OK to save and exit the dialog. The new password takes effect immediately for new DBA connections.
