Extended Model Setup

Setting up PowerDesigner to use the extensions takes a few simple steps.

After installation, your system administrator must move the PowerDesignerExtensions.zip file to the Windows machine where you run PowerDesigner, and unzip it to the folder where PowerDesigner is installed. See Moving PowerDesigner Extensions in RAP - The Trading Edition Installation and Configuration Guide.

To apply the extensions automatically for new models, set up and use the RAP model category set.

To integrate existing physical data models with the message model and templates, extend the models by attaching the appropriate extensions file.

• Extending an Existing Model
  Attach extensions to any RAPCache or RAPStore physical data model, or to a logical data model that was generated from a RAP physical model but not extended.
• Setting Up the Model Category Set File
  Set up PowerDesigner to use the RAP category set for new models.
• Setting Datatypes for a RAP Message
  Manually set the datatype attribute for a RAP message definition if the RAP Dataype column in the Attributes tab of a RAP message definition is empty or shows the wrong values.
