Running the Sample Queries

Run the sample queries using the Interactive SQL utility.

TAQ data queries run on RAPCache and RAPStore. Interday and Historical market data queries are optimized to run on RAPStore.You can run the TAQ query scripts against the cache database, and the Interday and Historical market data query scripts against RAPStore using Interactive SQL: isql for the RAPCache database and dbisql for RAPStore.

Note:

To run the queries from a client machine, your system administrator must copy the queries from the server to a target directory on the machine where the appropriate client tools are installed.

Using Interactive SQL for the RAPCache Database
Use Interactive SQL (isql) to run the TAQ data query scripts on your RAPCache database.
Using Interactive SQL for the RAPStore Database
Use Interactive SQL (dbisql) to run the TAQ, Interday, and Historical market data query scripts on your RAPStore database.
dbisqlc versus dbisql
RAP – The Trading Edition includes dbisqlc and dbisql, but Sybase recommends that you use dbisql to run queries on RAPStore.
