Generating Database Schema with PowerDesigner

PowerDesigner includes all the resources you need to generate a set of data definition language (DDL) statements in SQL scripts directly from the Sybase RAP data models. Run these scripts to generate a schema for your RAPStore and RAPCache databases.

Prerequisites

Install Sybase PowerDesigner on Windows before you generate DDL for the Sybase RAP databases.

See “Installing PowerDesigner” in Chapter 1, “Installing Sybase RAP” of the Sybase RAP - The Trading Edition Installation and Configuration Guide.

For information on using PowerDesigner, see the PowerDesigner product documentation.

To generate DDL from a data model:

  1. Open the data model in PowerDesigner.
  2. Change the default database user.
  3. Generate the script that creates a schema for the new database.
  4. Log into the database and run the script.
