Datatypes as originated in the data source are preserved during the transformation process. Internally, Sybase IQ ETL distinguishes string and numeric datatypes. The Standardize Data Format option of the Data Providers or Data Sinks automatically converts the data to a standard format that then is automatically converted to a format the target database understands. Therefore, you do not have to deal with the various date and number formats when working with different databases.
This setting is activated by default. However, if you are experiencing problems with date or number fields, you can disable this setting on the component that causes trouble and convert the data manually.
