Use the Sybase IQ Service Manager to define a service that will start an IQ server. You can then configure the service to start the server automatically whenever the host is started. The service should start either non-multiplex or multiplex servers.
You may prefer to synchronize query servers when the host is restarted. Sybase Central provides a script file (sync_server.bat) that processes the query server side of a synchronization. This includes copying the database file from the active write server and restarting the query server. Currently, Sybase does not provide a way to run the sync_qnode.bat script as a service.
If you don’t need the query server to reflect DML changes immediately, then you can skip the synchronization components.
