Working with external logins

By default, Sybase IQ uses the names and passwords of its clients whenever it connects to a remote server on behalf of those clients. However, this default can be overridden by creating external logins. External logins are alternate login names and passwords to be used when communicating with a remote server.

If you are using an integrated login, then the IQ name and password of the IQ client is the same as the database userid and password that the IQ userid maps to in syslogins.
