Using the Label style

The Label presentation style shows data as labels. With this style you can create mailing labels, business cards, name tags, index cards, diskette labels, file folder labels, and many other types of labels.

Mailing labels

This sample of the Label presentation style shows names and addresses formatted on three lines as mailing labels with a decorative image to the left.

Business cards

The sample of the Label style shows data arranged as business cards, with all information right aligned. The name of the company appears at the top, followed by a rule, then the employee’s name and title grouped on two lines beneath the rule. At lower right are address, phone, and fax information grouped in four lines.

Name tags

The sample shows Label style used for name tags. Each tag is a small rectangle with two lines of centered text for name and department.

Specifying label properties

If you choose the Label style, you are asked to specify the properties for the label after specifying the data source. You can choose from a list of predefined label types or enter your own specifications manually.

Where label definitions come from

PowerBuilder gets the information about the predefined label formats from a preferences file called PBLAB105.INI.
