When you install EP Enterprise Edition 6.0 and later, you are prompted to choose an installation type:
Demo – installs Enterprise Web Studio and Portal Interface without Enterprise Security. The EP Demo installation uses database authentication and cannot be integrated with Enterprise Security.
Typical – installs Enterprise Web Studio and Portal Interface integrated with Enterprise Security. The EP Typical installation uses J2EE role-based container authentication by default.
Custom – installs Enterprise Web Studio and Portal Interface integrated with Enterprise Security and lets you select an existing or different data server or application server. The EP Custom installation uses J2EE role-based container authentication by default.
Search only – installs only the Portal Search daemons and the dynamic reasoning engine utility, which allows you to distribute the DRE to one or more remote machines.
This document assumes that you installed Enterprise
Portal with Enterprise Security and describes that configuration.
Because this is the default configuration, you do not need to perform
the procedures in this section—the installation performs
the configuration for you. The information is provided here for
reference.
