Running the JMX agent

Before you run the JMX agent, verify that the JAVA_HOME environment variable points to a JRE 1.4 installation, and that SybSNMP is running so that the agent can connect to it—see “Net-SNMP master agent”.

StepsStarting the JMX agent

  1. On UNIX, change to the ROOT/bin directory, and enter:

    SybAgent.sh
    

    To see other start-up options, enter:

    SybAgent.sh -h
    

    On Windows, change to the ROOT\bin directory, and enter:

    SybAgent.bat
    

    To see other start-up options, enter:

    SybAgent.bat -h
    

StepsStopping the JMX agent

  1. On UNIX, change to the ROOT/bin directory, and enter:

    StopSybAgent.sh
    

    On Windows, change to the ROOT\bin directory, and enter:

    StopSybAgent.bat
