Use CDs #2 and #3 to install the Sybase Development Edition Servers.
In this guide, <installation directory> refers to the installation directory designated at the time of installation.
If firewall parameters are set to high levels, one of the following messages may appear:
Java.exe trying to access the internet
Do you want to keep blocking this program? Java.exe
Select the appropriate response to continue with the installation.
When installing on Windows XP using the CD installation package, you may receive the following error message after inserting CD #2:
Windows can perform the same action every time you insert a disk.
Click OK to close the error message and proceed with the installation.
To install Sybase Developer Edition Servers
Prerequisites:
Shut down any Sybase products that are currently running.
Verify that you are logged in to the machine with administrative rights.
If your installation media are CDs, verify that your machine is not set to Autorun. Failure to do so may result in installation problems while spanning CDs.
Insert CD #2.
Start the installer:
Select Start | Run from the Windows Start menu.
In the Run dialog box, browse to locate the setup file:
<Installation Media drive>:\desetup.exe
Click OK.
The installer Welcome page appears.
Initiate the installation process. Click Next on the Installer Welcome page.
The License Agreement page appears.
Select the geographic location from the drop-down list for your installation of the software.
The license agreement appears in the main section of the page. If you do not see the text, scroll down.
Select the appropriate option to accept the terms of the Sybase license, and click Next.
You must accept the terms of the license to continue with the installation.
Specify an installation directory:
If you installed Sybase WorkSpace first, click Next to install Sybase Developer Edition Servers in the same directory.
If you are installing the Sybase Developer Edition Servers first, click Next to install Sybase WorkSpace in the default directory C:\Sybase\WorkSpace. This option is recommended.
If the directory does not exist, you are prompted to confirm creation of this directory before continuing.
Click Browse to designate another directory.
Use English characters for all directory names.
Use single-byte characters for the installation directory path.

Use the underscore character instead of hyphens in the installation directory name.
Do not install Sybase WorkSpace in the same directory as Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.0. Specifying the same directory results in errors when deploying services.
The feature selection page appears.
Review the selection list and deselect any feature that you do not want installed, then click Next.
Do not select Clear All and
then Select All to install all the
features. Doing so results in a failure to install Unwired Accelerator.
The following servers have dependencies that are automatically selected when you select that server option. You cannot deselect a dependency.

If you chose to run the Service, Mobile, or Web Application Development features on EAServer, select which EAServer installation you plan to use. Choose one of the following and click Next:
Select Install a new EAServer 5.3 to complete a fresh installation of EAServer 5.3 Developer Edition on your machine.
Select Use an existing EAServer 5.3 installation to configure a standalone EAServer installation to work with Sybase WorkSpace. Then browse for the directory of the standalone installation.
No other EAServer configuration is necessary after making this selection.

If you selected to install the Mobile Development servers, the domain page appears.
Identify your company domain for Mobile Development. Choose from the following and click Next:
Select Enter domain name and enter your company network domain for the Unwired Accelerator runtime using the format <mycompanydomain>.com.
Select Domain name unknown if you do not know the company domain. Then complete the procedure for manually configuring an IP address for mobile development after this installation process is complete.

The installation summary page appears.
Review the installation summary information, and click Install to install the selected servers.
A status bar and checklist record the progress of the installation.
The installation process may take some time to complete.
Allow the installer to run without interruption. Failure to do so
may result in problems when launching Sybase WorkSpace.
Insert CD #3 to continue the installation.
Choose from the following and click Next:
View Release Bulletin
When the following message appears, click Finish to complete the installation:
Sybase Developer Edition Servers have been installed successfully.
