In this guide, <installation directory> refers to the installation directory designated at the time of installation. On Windows, the default directory is C:\Sybase\WorkSpace. If the installation directory does not already exist, the installer creates it for you.
If firewall parameters are set to high levels, one of the following messages may appear:
Java.exe trying to access the internet
Do you want to keep blocking this program? Java.exe
Select the appropriate response to continue the installation.
When installing on Windows XP using the CD-ROM installation package, you may receive the following error message after inserting CD-ROM #2:
Windows can perform the same action every time you insert a disk.
Click OK to close the error message and proceed with the installation.
To install Unwired Orchestrator tooling
Prerequisites:
Shut down any Sybase products that are currently running.
Verify that you are logged onto the machine with administrative rights. See “Administrative Rights” for more information.
Insert the Sybase WorkSpace installation media.
Start the installer:
If your machine is configured to autorun from the installation media, InstallShield Wizard automatically starts.
If your machine is not configured to autorun from the installation media, do the following:
Select Start | Run from the Windows Start menu.
In the Run dialog box, browse to locate the setup file:
<Installation Media drive>:\setup.exe
Click OK.
The Installer Welcome window appears.
Initiate the installation process. Click Next on the Installer Welcome window.
The License Agreement window appears.
Select the geographic location from the drop-down list for your installation of the software.
The license agreement appears in the main section of the window. If you do not see the agreement, scroll down.
Select the appropriate option to accept the terms of the Sybase license, and click Next.
You must accept the terms of the license to continue with the installation.
Specify an installation directory. Choose one of the following:
Click Next to install Sybase WorkSpace in the default directory C:\Sybase\WorkSpace. This option is recommended.
If the directory does not exist, you are prompted to confirm creation of this directory before continuing.
Click Browse to designate another directory.
Use English characters for all directory names.
Use single-byte characters for the installation directory path.

Do not designate the Sybase WorkSpace installation directory to be the same as Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.0. Failure to do so will result in errors when deploying services.
Click the checkbox if you want to reuse an existing Eclipse or JDK installation. This option is recommended for advanced users.
To guarantee compatibility with Eclipse and the JDK,
Sybase recommends that you use the versions that install with Sybase WorkSpace.
The Product License Information window appears.
Enter the product license information supplied with your installation media. Complete the following fields and click Next:
Order number
Feature name
Authorization code
Choose one of the following installation types. Then click Next.
Choose from the following:
If you are installing the product using DVD, continue to the next step.
If you are installing the product using CD-ROM, insert Sybase WorkSpace CD#2 after CD #1 completes, and click Next.
The Mobile Development Domain page appears.
If you chose a Custom type installation
and did not select to install the Mobile Development tooling or
the Unwired Accelerator 7.0 Developer Edition, skip the following
step as the Mobile Development Domain page does not appear.
Identify your company domain for Mobile Development. Choose from the following and click Next:
Select Enter domain name and enter your company network domain for the Unwired Accelerator runtime using the format <mycompanydomain>.com.
Select Domain name unknown if you do not know the company domain. Then complete the procedure for manually configuring an IP address for mobile development after this installation process is complete.
See “Creating a Substitute Hostname and Domain for Mobile Development” for more information.
The Installation Summary window appears.
Review the installation summary information, and click Install to install the product.
The installer displays the progress of the installation.
The installation process may take some time to complete.
Allow the installer time to run the installation without interruption.
Failure to do so may result in problems when launching Sybase WorkSpace.
Select any of the following and click Next to complete the installation:
View Release Bulletin
Start Sybase WorkSpace 1.0
Create Sybase WorkSpace 1.0 Shortcut on Desktop
Click Finish when the following message appears:
Sybase WorkSpace 1.0 has been installed successfully.
If you had selected the option to Start Sybase
WorkSpace 1.0, the Installer Finish Page may be covered
by the application. Minimize the application and complete the installation
before you continue.
The installer asks if you want to install Adaptive Server Enterprise Developer Edition server. To complete this installation, see Chapter 6, “Adaptive Server Enterprise Installation” for more information.
