Adaptive Server direct conversions support conversions between two native character sets of the same language group. For example, Adaptive Server supports conversion between CP 437 and CP 850, because both belong to the group 1 language group. Adaptive Server direct conversions exist between many, but not all, native character sets of a language group (see Table 10-1).
