If the license cannot be issued during a grace period, Adaptive Server either does not start, or the optional feature is not enabled. Such errors are reported in the Adaptive Server error log as:

This error message indicates that the Adaptive Server cannot obtain a valid license, and why. If e-mail notification is enabled, an e-mail message with this information is also generated. You must fix the license failure before Adaptive Server or the optional feature can start.
